It’s simple and it’s free and it is for both factions. I used it when I played WoW.
Leveling guides typically look like this:
Ironforge
1. Go to 73,94
Talk to pilot longbeard. Accept "the Brassbolt Brothers"
2. go to 70,21
Talk to Roetten Stonehammer. Accept "Reclaimer’s business in Desolace"
And so forth for hundreds of pages. The most useful things that they have are the following:
1) Map Coordinates. HOWEVER, you can download, for free, questhelper which will show you on your map where to find everything in a quest and the questgivers.
2) Instructions on the order of where to go. HOWEVER, if you serially run through quests, they will also lead you in these directions. Questhelper also gives you a suggested order of doing the quests.
3) Travel. There are moments when you can move faster by dieing and rezzing far from where you started or hearthing than by running. But in general, you can figure this out on your own, imho.
4) When you should buy objects at Auction Houses (AH). Now this is something that can be very useful to someone trying to level quickly. There are times when traveling some place, fighting a bunch of monsties (particularly if they’re so low in level you don’t get xp), that you’re probably better off buying what you wanted at the AH from a time saving standpoint. But, that also depends on whether someone is selling what you want and the travel to and from the AH.
The VAST majority of the leveling advice is:
1) Go to a location
2) Get ALL of the quests in that location
3) Do all of the quests (in a particular order so that you save time)
4) Travel
Honestly, I think you can save your money and just download questhelper and follow the four pieces of advice above. Which is to gather all quests and do all quests.
You can also find out, for free through web searches, the levels of various territories (see link below)
If you do want to get a leveling guide, you might be able to get it for free. File sharing servers like 4shared.com, torrents and so forth.
Gold and profession guides, however, may indeed be very useful and worth their while and my answer is strictly regarding leveling guides.

Zygors guide is simple the best, it does not only say walk from a to b and do this. It wil give your tips aswell as the basic idea you should develop to level fast, the spirit, the attitude and weapon tips.

Gavin’s 1-80 Leveling Guide is the only way to go.
It’s not a pdf file but it’s an actual add-on for the game.
You install it and when you load up the game and log into your character it will automatically suggest a leveling guide e.g. Horde 1-20 or Alliance 1-20
It will GUIDE you through the fastest way possible to get to level 20, once you get to level 20 (or before if you wish) you can load up Horde 21-30 for example, etc. all the way to 80.
The mod will tell you when to do which quests and where the quest is, it uses a built in ‘GPS’ which will point you in the right direction and tell you the distance to your objective in yards right below it.
It will even tell you when to heart, when to repair, when to train or when to skip training (based on class) etc. It will also say ‘slay mob X for quest Y to receive drop Z’ instead of ‘go here to do this quest’.
It’s really a one-of-a-kind guide in my opinion.

i’d go for zygor’s guide it’s a in-game add on that tells you exactly where to go and exactly what to do Note It has two versions if you have 2 on the same it goes corrupt and don’t load properly(in my case at least) so delete 1 from your wow add on folder when you ent gonna play that certain faction
